When Adam Price is approached by a stranger who unveils secret information about his wife, his happy suburban family life is torn apart by suspicion.
The programme stars many familiar faces, such as Richard Armitage and Siobhan Finneran. The Stranger novel was written by Harlan Coben, before being brought to television by directors, Daniel O’Hara and Hannah Quinn. Available on Netflix.
Another fantastic British miniseries – starring many fantastic actors.
Personally, I find it difficult to ‘binge-watch’ a programme. However, I flew through this programme in 24 hours. Each episode of The Stranger leaves you filled with questions, and you won’t stop watching till you discover the answers. Every episode was crammed with action, plot-twists and thrills. With NO filler episodes, the entire narrative is packed neatly into eight, forty-minute episodes.

Despite the plethora of twists and turns of the programme, it was easy and enjoyable to follow. There were equally plenty of characters too, though they were all vital to the plot and easily recognisable.
The show continues to feed you information, holding back a little to allow enigmas and investigation of your own. Though you were never left desperate and waiting for answers. Each episode fed us more secrets - and new, exciting plots altogether.

I loved the incorporation of hand-held camera work within the programme, alongside many other stunning shots. Scenes such as the car chase and the on-foot run through the train tracks were such great quality, leaving me on the edge of my seat. Honestly, I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of the programme, due to the likability of the characters. You truly route for them in desperate situations – I stressed at my screen frantically during high intensity scenes. I had such great concern for the characters I had grown so fond of.
I found Martin Killane (played by Stephen Rea) to be an incredibly interesting character. His grumpy personality made me laugh, though I also empathised with him a lot (even when I feel I shouldn’t have!). Lily Loveless' character of Ingrid was equally intriguing. Though her character wasn't as relevant as I initially predicted, the dynamic she had with ‘the stranger’ was interesting. Her concern and panic, in comparison to her partners lack of caution and emotional drive made them an interesting duo.

Final Thoughts
Although I may be bias, due to my love of British mystery/thriller/crime series, I would highly recommend giving this programme a watch. It exceeded my expectations, with a great narrative, incredibly interesting characters portrayed by a range of wonderful actors, and a high quality-production.
